Welcome to FamilyChores ("we," "our," or "us"). By accessing or using our application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read these Terms carefully before using our services.
2. Description of Service
FamilyChores is a family chore management and allowance tracking application that allows parents to assign chores to children, track completion, and manage allowance payments. The application may include features for electronic funds transfers between linked bank accounts.
3. Account Registration
To use FamilyChores, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete. You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activities that occur under your account.
4. User Responsibilities
You agree to use FamilyChores only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Use the service in any way that violates any applicable federal, state, local, or international law or regulation
- Impersonate or attempt to impersonate another user or person
- Engage in any conduct that restricts or inhibits anyone's use or enjoyment of the service
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service, other accounts, or computer systems
- Use the service in any manner that could disable, overburden, damage, or impair the site
5. Payment Services
FamilyChores offers payment services through Dwolla, Inc. ("Dwolla"), a third-party payment processor. By using the payment functionality of our application, you agree to the Dwolla Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Any funds held in the Dwolla network are held with its financial institution partners. You must have a U.S. bank account to use Dwolla's payment services.
You authorize FamilyChores to share your identity and banking information with Dwolla as necessary to establish and maintain your Dwolla account and to process your transactions. You authorize Dwolla to originate credit transfers to your financial institution account.
6. Parental Consent
FamilyChores is designed for family use, including children under the age of 13. By creating accounts for your children, you as a parent or legal guardian:
- Consent to the collection and use of personal information of children under 13 as described in our Privacy Policy
- Agree to supervise and be responsible for your child's use of the service
- Acknowledge that you will review and approve all financial transactions involving your children
7. Intellectual Property
The FamilyChores application, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by us and is protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property or proprietary rights laws.
8. Limitation of Liability
In no event will FamilyChores, its affiliates, or their licensors, service providers, employees, agents, officers, or directors be liable for damages of any kind, including but not limited to direct, indirect, special, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, arising out of or in connection with your use of the application.
9. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless FamilyChores, its affiliates, licensors, and service providers, and its and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, suppliers, successors, and assigns from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms or your use of the application.
10. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the service will immediately cease.
11. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.
